The library will welcome "Lodi Larry," a bunny from the Bergen County Zoo, at 3:30 p.m. for a first day of spring event.
The visit with Lodi Larry will be split into two parts, Justin Watrel of the friends of the library said. The first part was titled "In my Backyard" about local animals.
"The program introduces children to identifying and safely observing New Jersey's wildlife," Watrel told Daily Voice. "This is where we will be introducing the rabbit."
Then kids will take part in a discussion about animals, a craft and story time.
The program is limited to 25 kids ages 4 and up, plus their parents.
"We don't want to overwhelm the rabbit," Watrel said.
Registration must be done by March 18.
Refreshments will be served and the library staff plan to show the movie "Groundhog's Day." At one point the Friends of the Lodi Memorial Library wanted to bring a groundhog in Feb. 2, but opted for Lodi Larry in March instead, Watrel said.
